Cookie Policy
Last updated · 25 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies StayKnit uses. A cookie is a small file stored on your device; we use them sparingly and only for the purposes below.
Essential and optional cookies
Essential cookies are needed to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and protect your account, so they cannot be switched off and do not require consent. Analytics and advertising (the Meta Pixel) are optional and separate: in our cookie banner you can accept all, decline all, or tap “Choose” to allow each one on its own. Nothing optional runs until you allow it, and you can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. When the Meta Pixel runs, Meta receives the page you visited, your IP address and browser details, and whether you created an account. It is never loaded inside your account, owner portal or admin pages.
Cookies and similar technologies we use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| better-auth.session_token (and related session cookies) | StayKnit | Keeps you signed in and protects your account. Secure, HttpOnly. | Up to 7 days, or until you sign out | Essential |
| sk_consent | StayKnit | Remembers which optional cookies (analytics, advertising) you allowed. | 1 year | Essential |
| sk_region | StayKnit | Remembers the location you picked so prices show in your currency. Only set if you choose one. | 1 year | Essential |
| Vercel Analytics (no cookie) | Vercel | Counts page visits in aggregate. Runs only after you accept. | No cookie stored; visitor hash resets daily | Optional |
| _fbp (Meta Pixel) | Meta Platforms | Measures whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and sign-ups. Loads only after you accept, and only on public pages (never inside your account). | 90 days | Optional (advertising) |
| sk_utm | StayKnit | Remembers which ad or campaign link you arrived from (campaign name only, no ID), so we can tell which ads lead to sign-ups. Not set if you switch off advertising cookies. | Until you close your browser | Functional |
| Sentry (no cookie) | Sentry | Reports app errors so we can fix them. Receives technical data such as IP address and browser. | No cookie stored | Essential |
| Paystack cookies | Paystack | Processes card payments securely. Only set on the payment screen. | Set by Paystack | Essential (when paying) |
Installable app (service worker)
If you install StayKnit on your phone or computer, a service worker stores a few public files (the offline page, app icons and the app manifest) in your browser’s cache so the app opens quickly and shows a friendly page when you are offline. It never stores your bookings, statements, sign-in details or any other personal information. StayKnit does not use local storage to keep personal information on your device.
Third-party requests
Our typefaces are self-hosted — they are bundled at build time and served from StayKnit itself — so simply displaying the app makes no request to Google or any other font provider, and no cookie or IP address is shared with them. On the plan page, the app loads Paystack to process payments securely; Paystack may set its own cookies or receive your IP address as part of delivering that service.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics and the Meta Pixel using the banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though essential cookies are needed to stay signed in.
Legal alignment
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is intended to comply with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. If there is any conflict between this Cookie Policy and your statutory rights under those laws, your statutory rights will prevail.
