A live connection links your Airbnb and Booking.com accounts so bookings arrive straight away, with no calendar links to copy (an add-on from R29 per listing on any paid plan, Starter included, and included in StayKnit Pro). Two-way calendar sync works with any site that offers a calendar link, including Vrbo and LekkeSlaap, so a booking or blocked date on one site blocks the same dates everywhere.

Yes, for Airbnb and Booking.com, on listings we have set up and verified with you. Bookings then arrive in seconds. Any listing not yet set up uses calendar sync (iCal), checked every 3 hours or when you tap Sync now. Vrbo, Expedia, Agoda and other sites our connectivity partner supports are on request: we check your listing can connect and test it with you first, and until then the site stays on two-way calendar sync. LekkeSlaap stays on calendar sync.

Calendar links (iCal) are included on every plan and work with almost any booking site, including Airbnb, Booking.com, LekkeSlaap, NightsBridge and Vrbo. They carry booked and blocked dates only, with no guest names, prices or messages (you can add the price yourself in StayKnit). StayKnit checks every 3 hours or when you tap Sync now, but each site reads StayKnit on its own schedule, often every 1 to 3 hours, so there is a small window where two sites could take the same dates. Prices and rules are still changed on each site.

The live connection (API) currently covers Airbnb and Booking.com. Vrbo, Expedia and Agoda can be added on request once we have tested them with your listing; until then they stay on calendar links. LekkeSlaap and NightsBridge do not offer a live connection to systems like StayKnit, so they always use calendar links.

With a live connection, changes go through in seconds, bookings arrive with guest name, guests, price and reference, and blocked dates, direct bookings, prices, minimum stays and closed dates are sent from StayKnit straight away. You can accept or decline Airbnb Request to Book in StayKnit, but instant bookings and Booking.com bookings are confirmed by the site and are cancelled on that site. We set it up with you and you approve it once in your Airbnb or Booking.com account. It costs R29 per listing per month on every paid plan, Starter included, or is included in StayKnit Pro.

Many hosts use both: live for Airbnb and Booking.com, calendar links for every other site.

Yes, automatically. A booking on Airbnb, Booking.com or LekkeSlaap appears in your StayKnit calendar and is sent back to your other sites as blocked dates. StayKnit checks your sites every 3 hours, and you can press Sync now at any time. Each site then picks up the change when it next refreshes its calendar link.

Yes. Every listing across every site shows in one calendar, and StayKnit is built for your phone first. Today you can add it to your Android or iPhone home screen straight from the browser, and it opens like an app. A separate StayKnit app on Google Play is coming soon; it is the same account and data, just installed from the store.

Guests can find you on Find a stay (stayknit.org/stays), the StayKnit directory of holiday rentals, and contact you directly by phone, WhatsApp, email or your website. If you switch on the availability calendar, they can also send you a booking request. StayKnit takes no commission. Every paid plan includes a listing at no extra cost, and you choose whether to show it. Every host on Find a stay is a paying subscriber, checked before their stay goes live.

Yes. Block any dates on a listing for maintenance, an owner stay or personal use. The blocked dates show on your StayKnit calendar and are sent to every connected booking site, so guests cannot book them.

Yes. Add direct bookings yourself (for example from a phone call, WhatsApp or a returning guest), then edit or cancel them later. They show on the same calendar as your site bookings and block those dates on your other sites.

A 14-day trial with full access to every feature and one listing. No card is required to start, and nothing is charged until you choose to confirm a paid plan. Add a paid plan whenever you are ready to manage more.

Plans are prepaid for the term you choose — monthly, 6 months (10% off), or 1 year (pay 12 months, get 14). Auto-renewal is optional and off by default, so you are never charged by surprise; switch it on at checkout (or later from your plan) if you would rather your term renew automatically, and turn it off any time. Payments are processed securely by Paystack.

Yes. Each owner gets a read-only portal scoped to their own properties, with live occupancy and downloadable monthly statements.

All plans are charged in South African rand (ZAR) through Paystack. You can view prices in USD, EUR or GBP as a guide, but the amount charged is the rand price; your bank sets the exchange rate.
