Hear about problems before the review goes public

· 4 min read

Most bad reviews start as a small problem the host never heard about. A broken kettle, a weak Wi-Fi signal or a noisy neighbour is easy to fix on day one and hard to explain on a public review site afterwards.

Give guests an easy way to tell you

Many guests will not phone or message a host to complain. They will, however, scan a code on the fridge or next to the Wi-Fi password. Make it quick, private and possible without signing up for anything.

  • Put one QR code in each unit, where guests already look.
  • Let guests choose: leave a review, or report a problem.
  • Keep name and email optional so people actually use it.

Fix it while the guest is still there

A problem reported on the first evening can usually be sorted the next morning. Reply quickly, send someone round if needed and mark the report as resolved once it is done. Guests who see a fast response are far more forgiving.

Keep feedback private

Private feedback is for you, not for marketing. Do not publish guest comments or contact details without permission, and only keep the feedback for as long as you need it.

In StayKnit, guest feedback is never published. It is kept for 24 months, and you get notice emails with an export link before anything is removed.

Share the good news with owners

If you manage properties for owners, positive guest comments are some of the best proof of your work. Share selected reviews with the owner, without the guest’s name or email, so they can see how their property is doing.

How to set it up in StayKnit

Go to Settings and open “Guest reviews & complaints”. Each listing has its own QR code and link. Save the code as an image, print it and place it in the unit. New reviews and problem reports arrive by email and in your inbox in the app.
